Burr Brothers Clam Company was founded in 2001, when Andy and Glen obtained a
two acre state lease in the Indian River, just south of the Sebastian Inlet.
They recieved training from Harbor Branch Oceanagraphic Institute, which
included classes as well as field work in Cedar Key. They purchased seed clams
originally spawned by Harbor Branch and planted their fisrt crop. The clams grow
in their natural environment in state monitored waters. After approximately 18
months, the first crop was ready for harvest. These first clams were sold to
local wholesalers.

About a year later, with the rise in popularity of "Green Markets", they
obtained a retail license and began to sell at local markets. This product fit
perfectly into the whole green market ideal. Consumers have access to the best
and freshest items, sold directly to them by the producers.
Burr Brothers Clams are now available at green markets and produce stands from
West Palm Beach to Vero Beach. Burr Brothers clams truely are "THE GREEN MARKET
CLAM"

Burr Borthers Clam Company is a State Certifited Wholesale Distributor with a Shellfish Processing certification.
